One of Cape Town’s best kept secrets is the fabulous Rhodes Memorial restaurant and tea garden that serves up incredible breakfast and fabulous coffee! Situated on the Northern slope of Table Mountain and comfortably nestled behind the well-known Rhodes Memorial, the quaint spot will definitely give you a rare view of the Mother City, and Insta-worthy pics!

Sitting in the idyllic atmosphere of the tea garden, you can be guaranteed superb food. For brekkie treat yourself to their divine eggs benedict which comes with perfectly textured hollandaise sauce.

The menu is seasonal so patrons can be expect fresh ingredients and fitting dishes for the weather. For summer you will notice a strong al fresco influence with roaring log fires and Gluhwein in winter. Some of our favourite winter dishes are the Ostrich Bobotie, Cape Malay style curries and Lamb Bredies.

Let’s face it if we could have just desserts all day we would so treat yourself by enjoying the on-site home-style bakery which is renowned for delicious cakes and desserts. Pop up for an afternoon tea and cake with a stunning view – sounds almost too good to be true if we’re honest.

We love the incredible panoramic views of the Cape Flats to the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland Mountain ranges; one of the few vantage points where both the Atlantic and Indian oceans can be seen.
Tip: There is free and secure parking and several mountain walks start and finish there so get some exercise and then enjoy a lovely cuppa Joe while you’re up there!
Note: There is a fab playground with swings, slides, jungle gym and a kiddies sandpit for your munchkins to enjoy.
